How much does a complete brake job cost?
A complete brake repair job for one wheel including pad replacement, new calipers, rotors and labor can cost anywhere from $300 to $800 depending on the factors discussed in the next section. If all top-of-the-line parts need to be replaced, this can easily inflate to $1000+. The average price is right around $450.
How much does it cost to get your brakes changed?
The average brake pad replacement cost is $150 per axle, and can range from $100 per axle up to $300 per axle. There are a few other pieces of hardware that are found in the brake system which might need to be serviced as well, including calipers and rotors, but the most common service will be to replace brake pads.
How much should a front brake job cost?
But on a typical vehicle, we estimate the average cost of front brake pads to be under $50, and front rotors around $50 per wheel, for a total of around $150. Thinking about paying a professional to replace your brakes? You'll want to keep in mind a few additional costs.
How much does it cost to replace brake pads and rotors?
Know what price you should pay to get your vehicle fixed.
The average cost for a brake rotor replacement is between $406 and $559. Labor costs are estimated between $158 and $200 while parts are priced between $248 and $359. Estimate does not include taxes and fees.
How much does a 4-wheel brake job cost?
A good rule of thumb is $125 per wheel, so $500 for a standard 4-wheel brake job on MOST cars. If you are going to replace the brake rotors instead of resurfacing them, I would add an additional $75 – $100 for each rotor you replace. There are 4 total brake rotors on your vehicle.
Can I just replace brake pads and not rotors?
Troubleshooting brake rotors
Rotors will need to be replaced by 70,000 miles on most vehicles, but it depends on use. Rotors, like brake pads, should be replaced in pairs for even stopping performance. ... Grooves worn into the rotor by the brake pads.
How much does it cost to replace rear brakes?
A typical brake pad job on a regular commuter/non-performance car costs around $50-$80 for all four sets of pads, and about $150-$200 for a set of pads and rotors, front and rear. Labor an an independent shop should be around 1-2 billable hours, so by doing it yourself, you're saving around $180.
How long will rear drum brakes last?
The brake drums on your car are built to last for about 200,000 miles. In some cases, the drums will wear out sooner due to worn out internal components that put more strain on the drum. As your brake drums begin to wear down, they will actually become smaller.
Can you drive with bad rotors?
If you suspect you have warped rotors or your brakes are failing, it is important that you avoid driving your vehicle and contact a mechanic right away. Driving with warped rotors potentially will result in a brake system failure, which can cause injury to yourself and those around you.
What is included in a complete brake job?
A complete brake job should begin with a thorough inspection of the entire brake system; lining condition, rotors and drums, calipers and wheel cylinders, brake hardware, hoses, lines, and master cylinder. Any hoses that are found to be age cracked, chaffed, swollen, or leaking must be replaced.
How often should brakes be serviced?
Generally, brake pads need to be replaced after about 50,000 miles. Some need to be replaced after 25,000, while others can last for 70,000 miles – it all depends on the factors listed above. To get a more accurate number for your car's specific needs, consult the owner's manual.

Stay Ahead of Brake Problems with Towing And Roadside Assistance Omaha
WHAT SOUNDS, NOISES & VIBRATIONS INDICATE NEEDED BRAKE REPAIR?
SCREECHING – This could mean your brake pads are either almost worn out or that the brake pad material is the wrong choice for your vehicle. Inferior brake pads can cause loud screeching every time you apply the brakes.
SQUEALING – This could mean that your brake pads are almost completely worn down and you’re hearing the sound of metal on metal. Brake pads include a small piece of metal that touches the rotor to indicate when your brake pads need replaced.
GRINDING – This typically means that you’ve gone past the brake pad material and are now metal on metal. Your brake pad no longer has the soft pad material and the metal backing of the pad is now what’s grinding on your rotor. This needs to be addressed immediately and the car should not be driven any further.
What type of vibrations & sensations indicate needed brake repair?
SPONGY BRAKE PEDAL – This means that air has been introduced into the braking system hydraulic fluid. You’ll experience poor stopping power until the system is properly bled.
PULSATING BRAKE PEDAL – When you apply the brake pedal does it pulsate up and down until you stop? If this is the case, your brake rotors and/or drums are warped. It’s recommended that you have your rotors replaced to prevent uneven brake wear and more problems.
VIBRATING STEERING WHEEL – This is also a common brake problem that happens when the pads wear down and the rotors warp. You might notice both a pulsating pedal and a vibrating steering wheel when braking. Repair is needed.
How can I prevent future brake problems and prolong the life of my rotors & brake pads?
CHOOSE THE RIGHT REPAIR SERVICE – It all starts this that first brake job. Where did you get your brakes serviced? What kind of part was used? Was it done right? But brakes are brakes right? WRONG. Most shops will say they employ ASE certified mechanics; they only need one mechanic to put that ASE sign up everywhere. Replacing brake pads and rotors needs to be done right from the moment the wheel is removed; a simple error like not tightening the lug nuts correctly could cause warped rotors. Automotive shops will use inferior parts not specified by the car manufacturer to save money and get you in the shop. This ultimately decreases the life of your vehicle’s brakes. Towing And Roadside Assistance Omaha replaces worn out brake parts with premium replacements that meet or exceed OEM specification. We also only employee ASE certified technicians to ensure every brake job is done correctly. Mobile Brake Repair Services Omaha!
VEHICLE WEIGHT – The weight your car or truck endures will have a serious effect on braking. The more weight in the vehicle, the harder it is to stop the car, and the harder it is the stop your car the hotter the brakes get. When your brakes get hot and stay hot for long periods of time they begin to warp. Get rid of any extra weight in your vehicle to help prolong your brakes.
CONSTANT BRAKING – Riding the brake (putting your foot on the brake pedal however lightly when you have no intention of slowing down or stopping) is a bad driving habit. It produces an enormous amount of heat on the brake system and destroys everything from your calipers to your rotors. To maintain control while going downhill, try downshifting instead of riding the brakes.
AGGRESSIVE DRIVING – Aggressive driving requires a lot of extra braking. Excess speed and last-minute decisions put unnecessary wear and tear on the braking system. Drive aggressively and you’ll be paying more for brake repair.
Why don’t we machine rotors?
Mobile Brake Repair Services Omaha: While machining fixes the problem, it only does so temporarily—this approach is not a solution, it’s a band-aid fix. Machining rotors may be less expensive upfront, but the maintenance and repair are more costly in the long run.
AT TOWING AND ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE OMAHA, WE ONLY REPLACE ROTORS. – The cost may be slightly higher than to machine rotors at another shop, but you’re getting a longer-lasting product, superior service, and high-quality parts.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU? – Peace of mind. Call us today to learn more.

MOBILE DISC BRAKE REPAIR IN OMAHA
Mobile Brake Repair Services Omaha NE: Brake pads and rotors are designed to stop your car; why should they stop your life too? Inevitably your brakes are going to wear out and you’ll be faced with the challenge of finding time in your busy day to drop your car off at the dealership and get shuttled back and forth. Or you could spend your Saturday morning watching TV from the plastic chairs in the waiting room of your local garage while they poke and prod your car to find 10 more things that they think need to be replaced. Afterward, they ransom the car back to you for four times what you were expecting to pay.
Thankfully there’s another option. Our Mobile ASE Certified Brake Specialists come to you equipped to replace your worn-out brake pads and rotors in less than an hour at your home or office using the highest quality brake parts available. Our mobile brake repair service is typically half the price of what you’d spend at the dealership and we don’t upsell you on any other service!
The ceramic and semi-metallic brake pads we use are created with the same process that high-end luxury manufactures use for their new cars. It’s called Positive-Molding, a process that involves pressing your new brake pads under 50 tons of force to squeeze in more braking material and less glue and resin. The result is brake pads that don’t squeak or squeal, last twice as long and create little to no dusting on your wheels.
We also install new brake rotors that meet the original equipment specification for your vehicle. Also, for many vehicles, we offer rotors with a rust-resistant coating which makes them last longer and look better through your wheels. We do not resurface rotors on a lathe. Resurfacing is known to cause trouble down the road. Most of the issues you have with a rotor are due to rust clogging the cooling channels leading to overheating, cracking, excessive wear, and warping. Resurfacing does nothing to address the cooling channels in your rotor. What it does do is thin down your rotor making it even more susceptible to overheating.
We, of course, stand behind the parts we install with a 12-month warranty that cover parts AND labor!

BRAKE SYSTEM FLUSH IN OMAHA
Our Brake System Flush service is a process by which all of the old dirty brake fluid is removed from your brake system and replaced with new clean brake fluid.
How does it go bad? Brake fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it has the ability to absorb water. Water and oil don’t mix leaving pockets of water trapped in your brake lines. Remember from science class that oil doesn’t compress but water does. What that means is that the more water you have in your brake lines the softer your brake pedal will feel and may require you to press harder and farther down on the pedal to bring your car to a stop.
When should I have a brake fluid flush done? Most manufacturers recommend that you flush the brake fluid every 3 years or 30k miles. At Towing And Roadside Assistance Omaha, we use an electronic tester to accurately determine if your brake fluid needs to be replaced. This way you’re only paying for a service when you know you actually need.
What to expect with Towing And Roadside Assistance Omaha fluid flush service? Our brake specialists flush the fluid from your brake system right on the spot. Using our specialized equipment, we are able to contain all the of the brake fluid that is flushed from your vehicle. We then recycle the old fluid at an approved recycling facility to help keep the environment clean.

BRAKE CALIPER REPLACEMENT IN OMAHA
It’s inevitable that at some point your brakes are going to wear out. Oftentimes when brakes fail it’s due to a worn-out brake caliper. This is the part that squeezes your brake pads against the rotor to slow your car. If you need a caliper replacement, our mobile brake repair service is a much safer and more convenient option. Having your vehicle towed to a garage is expensive and time-consuming.
You could choose to take your car to the dealership and pay way too much, or go to a local garage and get up-sold on repairs that may or may not actually need to be done. Thankfully there is another option! At Towing And Roadside Assistance Omaha, we can replace your worn-out drum brakes or damaged brake caliper on the spot at your home or office in less than an hour. Towing And Roadside Assistance Omaha Mobile Brake Repaircomes to you and saves you money and time. ABOUT BRAKES
What is the difference between brake pads and brake shoes?
Brake pads are used for disc brakes. Brake shoes are used in drum brakes. When you make your appointment and tell us the year, make and model of your car, we bring the right parts to your appointment either pads or shoes.
What is a rotor and how do I know if I need new ones?
Rotors are metal and disc-shaped and are located behind your wheel. The brake pads squeeze the rotor’s surface to slow your vehicle and bring you to a safe stop. Rotors are manufactured to be a certain thickness and designed to dissipate heat efficiently through vents or drilled holes. Sometimes rotors can last through two or three sets of brake pads before needing to be replaced. But the thinner they get the harder it is for them to dissipate heat properly causing them to warp.
Many brake repair services will offer to “turn” or “resurface” your rotors instead of outright replacing them. This means shaving enough metal off of the rotors to make them smooth and true again. However, newer vehicles are equipped with thinner, lighter rotors to save on costs and increase fuel economy. If these rotors are “turned” or “resurfaced” you’ll likely be making a U-turn back to the garage to have them replaced after only a few months. That’s why we recommend changing your rotors and pads at the same time.
How do I know what service I need?
Often people have their brakes diagnosed along with other engine maintenance at a traditional garage. Most of the time, people know they need brake service because of what they hear, feel or observe on their own about their vehicle and brakes. If you still have questions, call our support team and they will set up a time for you to talk with one of our Brake Repair Specialists.
What types of parts do you use?
We use parts that meet or exceed original equipment (OEM) specifications. That means we use the brake parts made to the exact tolerances and quality standards set by the manufacturer for your vehicle. We don’t use low-quality aftermarket parts that can squeak.
About Your Appointment
Do you come to my home or office?
We come to either your home or your office, whichever is convenient for you. It is helpful if there is extra space around your car to work in and if we aren’t working in a very busy traffic area or on a slanted surface, but our brake specialists have worked in all kinds of situations and are equipped to help you.
Where will you work on my vehicle?
We can work on it in your driveway, a parking lot at home or at work.
How early or late can I schedule my appointment?
To accommodate your busy life and schedule, we have early morning, evening and Saturday appointments readily available for you. We also do work during regular business hours. If you have an exceptional request, just give us a call and we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule.
What if I need to change my appointment?
No problem. We understand life is busy and things come up that’s why we are a mobile service. We’d appreciate it if you can call us at least 24 hours in advance so we can manage our schedule well. We will reschedule for a time that works for you.
Do I need to be home/meet your brake specialist when he/she works on my vehicle?
Either you or an authorized person with keys to your car will need to meet us when we arrive. We only use the keys to turn the car on and test the brakes once we are finished fixing them for you. When we are finished, we will need to meet again with you or an authorized person to take payment and return your keys. No one needs to stay with us or your vehicle while we are actually doing the work, though you are always welcome to stay and watch.
What information do you need about my vehicle? What is your process?
It’s simple. Youcall us or fill out a form on our website and request a brake service. You tell us the year, make and model of your vehicle. You also give us some dates and times that work for you as well as the address where you’d like us to work on your brakes.
One of our friendly and organized team members will call or email you back to confirm a date and time for your appointment. Then, our highly trained, friendly and respectful Brake Specialist will meet you, or someone you have designated, at your car and perform the work.
Once we are done, you or your designee will pay for the service with a credit or debit card. We print a credit card receipt for you on the spot. Later you will receive an email containing a total receipt outlining the service we performed and any notes from our Brake Specialist for your records.

We have outlined just a few of our customers’ favorite differences below

That focus allows us to offer great service at competitive prices. For fleet services, we do offer a few routine vehicle maintenance services along with brake service. If your vehicle needs additional service, we can recommend several reputable traditional garages in the area.
Do you offer Fleet Services?
Busy business owners know all too well that when a company vehicle is down for repairs, they might as well be closed for the day. We keep your business open by performing critical brake repair on the spot. Whether that is at your office or on a job-site we can get your vehicles back on the road quickly. Call usor visit our fleet services page for more information. We will set up a time for one of our business development managers to speak with you about your fleet service needs.
